Keeping busy

Lest you think I've been idle for the last summer months:

The wonderful baritone Alex Hurd and I have been in the studio, and are planning a disc of songs by the composer and pianist John Musto, who's in residence this summer at Caramoor.

June and July were taken up by practice (many new notes to learn), and with producing work for ICE's album of the Huang Ruo chamber concerto cycle, which is due out on the Naxos label in February. Production's not an easy task, but the disc will be extraordinary. ICE's show at Mostly Mozart, another Magnus Lindberg program, will be the late-night concert on August 22 (see my schedule page).
